Negative Prenatal Diagnosis after Infertility |
When All The Effort Comes to Naught Women who are unable to conceive, and then who face insurmountable roadblocks to adoption will feel barren in a way that no one else can feel. Childlessness stretches out without end, on a bleak and inescapable course. Yes, you can find other things to do, and yes, your life has value, joy, and wonder. But it all feels like marking time until you can get to what you really wanted to do... a less than perfect substitute for the unrealized hopes. In that circumstance, all you can do is go forward, praying always that things will change, but willing to accept if they do not, and willing to be the Lord's hands in whatever other way He asks you to. It is unrealistic to suppose that you'll just forget to hope for children, or that if you just work hard enough it will fade away. But certainly staying busy with something that you feel is of worth can help to ease the hurt some. This is the situation I find myself in at the moment. Building websites, with the hope that I'll soon be typing around a swollen belly again. It is a hollow substitute. It cannot begin to fill the gap, and it feels like just filling time, but it saves my sanity. It keeps me feeling like I am making a contribution to the world in some small way. Nothing can compare in value and absorption to raising a child. But other occupations can help you to endure, for as long as necessary, and help you to be a better mother if the opportunity does come.

"And she conceived again, and bare a son:and she said, Now I will praise the Lord: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing." Genesis 29:35 This site is titled after this verse, which speaks of Leah. This verse offers hope, because Leah did go on to bear more children. Other sites by Us |
